Jedi Knight & Mysteries of the Sith

Star Wars: Jedi Knight Mysteries of the Sith
The plot of this game places the player in the role of Kyle Katarn, who made his first appearance as a mercenary in Star Wars: Dark Forces (1995). Jedi Knight begins several years after the events in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. It begins as Kyle is being interrogated by a droid named 8t88 (’88’ for short). Kyle is informed by 88 that his father was killed by a Dark Jedi named Jerec. He escapes a gun to the head (from a Gran) and chases 88 for a stolen data disk meant only for Kyle from his father. Afterwards, he recovers a lightsaber from his father’s workshop, compelling him on a journey to confront his father’s murderers and to discover his own latent Force abilities. While on this journey, Kyle learns that seven Dark Jedi (Yun, Pic, Gorc, Boc, Maw, Sariss, and Jerec, the leader), his father’s killers, are intent on finding the Valley of the Jedi, a focal point for Jedi power in the universe.

Jak X: Combat Racing

game review: Sony’s fourth Jak and Dexter game, JAK X: COMBAT RACING for the PS2, takes the series away from its action/adventure roots and into the world of combat racing. As the name implies, this isn’t a normal racing game; players will have to watch out for environmental hazards like lava and boulders while guarding against homing missiles, attack drones, and other weapons unleashed by the other racers. The story of JAK X weaves together several different plots that began in the previous games. Krew, a villain from JAK II, is dead, and Jak and Dexter are asked to attend the reading of his will along with Sig, Ashelin, Krew’s daughter Rayn, and others. One of Krew’s requests is that everyone drink a toast in his honor; however, the wine is poisoned The rest of Krew’s instructions are then revealed: if any of the characters can win the Kras City Grand Championship in his name, they will be given the antidote. With no choice in the matter, the group enters the race, but soon, each is vying to win no matter what. The game features four different cups consisting of 20 challenges each, plus a large number of unlockable extras like more tracks, car upgrades, new racers, and more. Different weapons and abilities are available on each track, allowing players to fire lasers and create oil slicks to stop their opponents. JAK X: COMBAT RACING will keep players on their toes as they attempt to win the race and the antidote.

Rumble Roses

game review: Developed jointly by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and wrestling game developer Yuke’s, Rumble Roses is a powerhouse combination with intense wresting action, sexy female models, audacious poses and bold moves – all delivered with state-of-the-art graphics. Rumble Roses also features an advanced combat system that allows players to develop unique styles for their wrestlers. Players are able to change the personalities of their wrestlers through their actions in the ring, which then translates into changes in costume, attitude, and wrestling style options. Insults and taunts prove a lot more important here than in your typical wrestling title too, and many of the maneuvers are said to leave opponents in, what we will call, “compromising positions”.

Midnight Outlaw: Illegal Street Drag

review: This is a high stakes world where nothing matters but speed. Let the roar of supercharged engines ad the hiss of nitrous oxide propel the night into a high octane fury. You’re racing for more than the money, you’re racing for respect and rule of the streets.

Reap the rewards of a well run race—use your winnings to upgrade and trick out your car with engine enhancements, ground effects, paint job and stereos.

Realms of Magic

game review: Realms of Magic is a fantasy based card game, like Magic: The Gathering, in which the goal is to destroy your opponent’s castle before he destroys you. It has hundreds of fantasy units, heroes, items and spells to assist you in overcoming your enemies in strategic and tactical warfare.
Realms of Magic can be played against either an AI or human opponent(s). Each player takes turns and at the start of each turn, their kingdom produces a quantity of each resource equal to the strengths of various resource generators. You then draw cards that represent creatures, spells or artifacts which are used to produce varying effect.
