Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Reviews and more

Based on 4 critics - Overal Score: 82 / 100

GameInfo: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is an epic, open-world role-playing game set in Amalur, a mysterious and magical new fantasy world created by New York Times best-selling author R. A. Salvatore. Brought to life visually through the trademark visceral style of renowned artist and Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, Reckoning brings a new level of intense action combat to the RPG genre.

The game is being developed under the leadership of Ken Rolston, lead designer of the critically acclaimed RPGs Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

TheGamersHub It is very hard to say something bad about Reckoning as it does many things right that many seasoned RPG’s get wrong. The art style is simply amazing with unique and inspiring draw distance. The graphics do have some pop in every now and then but is to be expected in an open world game like this. However there was some slow down when running for long periods of time (unlimited sprint). The length of the game is extended with the seemingly endless array of things to do from side-quests, story missions to factions and tasks. The combat is top of the line and some of the best in the genre. If players are looking for an engrossing world that will take them away for a long time and not let go than Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning is for you. Read Full Review

Destructoid Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning does not beat around the bush. It knows exactly what it wants to be, what it wants you to feel, and what a Western RPG is when you boil it down to the bare essentials. It is a game designed, from beginning to end, as little more than an indulgent power fantasy, pure escapism where players get to be anything they want to be, and feel awesome doing it. Gamesradar As far as generic names that videogames call the protagonist so they don't need to give the main character an actual name, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning's "The Fateless" might be the best. Thankfully, that's only one of the great things about Reckoning, a game that proves there's room to grow in the action RPG genre... Read Full Review

CVG Bethesda's epic is less game-changer than game-ender; a virtual life bordering on virtual prison. Think The Matrix with better beards. Kingdoms of Amalur attempts to follow this towering achievement with something considerably breezier. It boasts the same vast volume - courtesy of Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston - but delivers in manageable chunks. Read Full Review
