They didn’t make videogames back in the 1930s (we’re not exactly sure why), but if they had done they’d probably look an awful lot like Cuphead. The old-school Disney art style of this run-and-gun shooter’s hand-drawn animation is absolutely magical in motion. Either alone or in co-op, you’ll be exploring a large overworld and searching for battles against over 30 bosses – a record-breaking amount, don’t you know. The cast of giant rotters to off includes a psychic carrot, a malevolent potato, two gentlemanly boxing frogs, and a balloon-octopus. Which all seems pretty normal when the character you’re controlling has a cup for a head and parries incoming attacks with a straw.
