Project CARS – PC Review

Review Screenshots Specs GameInfo Trailer

Project CARS is the pinnacle of next-generation sim racing. The base game is chock full of licensed vehicles and tracks. The graphics are on par with the best. The physics are outstanding with a wheel, and if you aren’t much of a hardcore sim racer, the controller support is the best I’ve ever seen for a racing video game. The only downside to this game is that it is incredibly demanding. Do not purchase this game if you barely meet the minimum specifications. Meet the recommended and you will have a smooth gaming experience.

One last thing. I have seen a lot of people complain that this game isn’t what they expected. So let me tell you what to expect by comparing it to other racing titles. This game is a fine mixture between hardcore simulation and arcade simulation. Hardcore simulation being Assetto Corsa, rFactor, iRacing, etc. Arcade simulation being Codemasters F1, Forza, and Gran Turismo. It isn’t as feature rich as those sim-cade titles, and it isn’t as raw and dry as the pure sim titles (although with all of the realism settings set properly, it feels just as good). It bridges the gap between the two to try and reach out to both parties, and I think it does a fantastic job doing so.

So take this information into consideration before purchasing. If you do, you won’t regret your decision.

Verdict: 87/100
