Old Games: Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake

Owing that Kojima was sidelined for the development of Snake’s Revenge, the first follow-up to Metal Gear, plus the fact that Konami made numerous tweaks to the gameplay in a bid to make the game appeal more to Western gamers, Snake’s Revenge is vehemently lambasted by fans of series. However, Snake’s Revenge is not without merit, and Kojima himself has even stated to liking the game, believing it stays true to Metal Gear ideals. Shortly after the game’s release, however, Kojima  would get to work on his successor to Metal Gear – Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, released for the MSX2. Alongside Metal Gear Solid on the PSone, Solid Snake would become one of the most popular games inside the Metal Gear canon, introducing many integral and popular characters – Gray Fox, Campbell – who would all go on to become mainstays within subsequent games in the series.
