PC game / As the second expansion for Civilization IV, Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword invites players back into the game for action after the invention of gunpowder. Featuring 12 new scenarios created with help from members of the Civ Fan Community, gamers must select from a variety of civilizations including newcomers Portugal, Babylon, and the Netherlands, and then begin building a society filled with citizens, world wonders, ports, education, religion, and politics. Players now have a chance to construct such engineering feats as Cristo Redentor, Shwedagon Paya, and the Moai statues. Espionage and diplomatic options are now available much earlier in the game, and a new feature allows gamers to create corporations and spread them into other countries for certain resources.
